Brandy is a distilled spirit made from a fruit that is fermented. Grapes are the very common fruit particularly for making the brandy. Although brandy is also extracted from peaches, apples, apricots, and several fruits. Brandy can be prepared at any place across the globe, and there are country styles such as pisco, cognac, Armagnac and grappa. Frequently enjoyed direct or raw brandy is the basic of various standard cocktails, and people drinking in Russia, Brazil, Philippines Germany and India mostly consume brandy.

The term Brandy was coined from a Dutch word brandwejin which meant burned wine.  It is an alcohol refined from fermented fruit juice, puree, or the leftovers of the wine produced from grapes.  . Earlier brandy was made from grapes. Many fruits lie in only two groups they are pome brandy which is extracted from fruits such as apples and pears, whereas stone fruit brandy utilize peaches, plums, cherries, and apricots.

There are no international rules about manufacture of brandy, few regions are called for a particular style which must fulfil specific standards. Anyhow the procedure to prepare Brandy differs from one kind and distillery to other, there are four fundamental processes in its manufacture. The fruit is converted into wine by using yeast to the fruit mash that changes the organic sugars into alcohol. The wine is refined into a heavy, concerted alcohol.

Copper pot stills are old and very common, although few distillers utilize constant column stills. Brandy  usually ripened and stored in wood barrels for at least some years or above 30 years. In the barrels, the clear distillate softens, uses oak flavors, and progresses an amber color. Unaged brandies are usually known as eau-de-vie; few may rest in stainless steel tanks or a same vessel for an acute to mellow. The last procedure is to mix various barrels of brandy and water to meet the required taste and bottling strength. Many of brandies are filled at 40 % alcohol. Around 21.36% of the Americans consume brandy in U.S.
